Maria Bouhuis, Jos Kemme and our Toyota Landcruiser
Since 2009 we have been regularly on the road with our Landcruiser.
South America was our first destination. From October 2009 to May 2010 we made a wonderful trip through Argentina, Bolivia and Chile. With Antarctica as the highlight.
Then followed a round trip through the Baltic countries and Scandinavia.
In 2012 we travelled with several 4WD drivers through Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Siberian Russia.
Our trip through North America lasted nine months. In two stages we drove from the far north of Canada and Alaska to the southern states along the Mexican Gulf and finally drove back east to Halifax, Nova Scotia.
In autumn 2014 we visited Morocco. Especially the south and the High Atlas are a beautiful challenge for 4x4 driving. The atmosphere is special and the landscape sometimes breathtaking. See the photos, no reports.
Iceland was our next destination in the summer of 2015. From Denmark by ferry full of Toyo's and Laro's to this inhospitable island, where volcanoes and geysers have coloured the nature.
In 2016 we escaped the cold and left the Zuidkaper at home to travel around Malaysia. First the mainland and then Serawak and Sabah, the two provinces on Borneo. A memorable trip because we unexpectedly discovered the restored grave of a great-grandfather in the rainforest.
Africa is on our wish list for 2017. The car has been shipped and is now in Cape Town and we fly there next week. We are making a round trip through Southern Africa, without fixed plans. We will post photos and stories at irregular intervals. Depending on local internet possibilities.
The stories of our travels through South America, Mongolia, North America and Southern Africa can be read and downloaded as PDF.
